DESIGN CONSULTANCY

Historically, Satstream and its partners have 30 plus years of relevant TELCO and ICT experience. Satstream can identify and scope all aspects of a sound, reliable, technically-relevant and efficient telecommunications infrastructure design, necessary to support any of our Client's remote operations.

At the outset of a new project Satstream confirms it's understanding of the scope by producing a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) that includes all timing and deliverable items. Our DFS proposals describe Satstream’s ability to conduct the study, identify key personnel and vendors and suggest a construction methodology to be used, under agreed terms and conditions.

PRINCIPAL’S INSTRUCTIONS

A Satstream DFS provides a comprehensive range of ICT solutions for each Client, which includes proposals for performance of all necessary related services:

  • Design;
  • Development and
  • Implementation – including Site Acquisition & Engineering Design (SAED), procurement, quality assurance, assembly, site preparation, delivery, installation, commissioning and testing in accordance with the Clients provided plans and instructions.

PROJECT DEFINITION

Requirements for a study include and are the basis for development of our proposals:

  • Inspect/identify/verify and review all requirements;
  • Conceptually design and configure options;
  • Prepare proposals for all design, installation and testing of each element;
  • Jointly develop sub-contractor scopes of works;
  • Develop contingency plans for all work;
  • Develop CAPEX and OPEX estimates to + or - 10%;
  • Prepare comparisons and other considerations; and
  • Identify and report on possible options and or alternatives.

PROJECT PLANNING

Our goal is to deliver a Project Planning Document in accordance with the DFS and the Principal’s instructions. We identify and provide design and costing details for the full range of agreed telecommunications services and products necessary to adequately and sufficiently provide a reliable, robust and fully supported commercial-grade network infrastructure suited to the specified operating environment.

Support and Maintenance

All Satstream supplied networks are delivered with an Advanced Support and Maintenance Services Agreement.

All of Satstream’s Service Staff are qualified technicians who have a proven track record and have certified training on the equipment being monitored and maintained.

Satstream has consistently demonstrated that we can rise to the challenge of commissioning rapidly changing communications and IT services, always delivering innovative total solutions to match our customer service requirements.

Satstream provides 24 x 7 Advanced Replacement Support which automatically sends replacement equipment by first available courier to site, together with the appropriate local work teams, to rectify any identified outage in the field. To ensure that we always have remote access to our client's network, the Satstream monitoring network is connected by a Customer supplier VLAN and or a Satstream supplied Dial-In Modem.

The Satstream Service Team has systems in place to monitor and adjust if necessary, a full range of communication services, such as:

  • Private LTE Cellular Networks
  • Microwave Radio Back Haul Networks
  • Commercial Satellite Networks
  • On-Site WiFi coverage and Telephony Networks
  • Stand-alone Smart Solar Power modules
  • Harsh Environment Reticulated Optics and
  • RoIP interfaces for VHF and UHF mobile radio networks.
  • These are just some of the services that Satstream can provide. Satstream is committed to providing high quality service and support, using state-of-the-art technologies and systems as required to ensure your operational capability.

Project Management

Satstream has the software tools, hardware and experienced human resources to manage most complicated projects, from major infrastructure roll-outs to a single link installation. Our processes are documented and in place to succeed.

SCOPE

Satstream creates an analysis of the client's needs or Definitive Feasibility Study to include all project requirements and budget. This information is collated and modelled to establish a Site Acquisition and Engineering Design (SAED) document. This is the first milestone designed to satisfy the clients expectations and it is used to develop the final written design brief.

SYSTEM DESIGN

The Satstream design methology uses the SAED guidelines to scrutinise available products and services that match the brief requirements and the available budget. Satstream utilises these concepts to convey the design into documented drawings and a Bill of Materials (BoM) for final costs.

PROJECT EVOLUTION

Satstream constructs the technical detail for the project with estimates of materials and labour, product lead times and site availability. A project team is selected with the necessary skills mix for the implementation of the project. The project plan evolves with the assignment of the resources and responsibilities.

IMPLEMENTATION / CONSTRUCTION

Implementation commences with procurement, initial site works and off-site preparation. Satstream moves construction on-site for the final phase. Site works often have critical timing so, float and progress are closely monitored. Deviations from the original planned times are adjusted and alleviated with modified resource allocations. When system construction is nearing completion, our engineers oversee the commissioning of the system to identify any construction defects and shortcomings of products and restore its integrity. Once the engineering team have completed the commissioning process, all documentation for complete client handover is prepared.

AFTER CONSTRUCTION

Satstream provides a forum for clients to follow up any relevant project issues. All Projects have an agreed warranty period called the 'defects liability period'. Furthermore, Satstream can provide on-going 7 x 24 maintenance for years to come.
